Here’s the deal with me…I kind of have this theory that our lives are only as good as the decisions we make. I think we all know that person (and maybe YOU are that person) who every time there’s a decision to be made, makes the wrong one every time, and as a result; they’re life is unhappy, chaotic and unfulfilled. But I don’t think it has to be that way!!
This blog is about making the most of our lives, starting from where we are right now!
It doesn’t matter if you’re coming off a divorce, a job loss or you’re just unhappy with the way your life is going. And hey, even if you ARE happy with your life, there’s always room for improvement. I have yet to meet the perfect person and by no means do I claim to be.
My point is, we can ALL do something to change our lives and make them better. The trick is just figuring out where to start.
The Goal is Simple: To be better off in three years than we are today. Is it a big goal? Yep. Is it a subjective goal? For sure. But it’s a good place to start and this blog is all about finding fun ways to improve ourselves in all aspects of our lives, including health, fitness, finances, personal achievements and intellectual activities.
Of course, I broke my Magic 8 ball when I was thirteen when I threw it at my brother, so I can’t tell you what the future holds but I contend that planning, positive thinking and a sense of humor will carry you through most, if not all, of life’s challenges.
So this is it, my personal invitation for you to join me on this journey. Wherever you are in life, that’s where you start...so get ready and let’s do this!
Now a little about me…
I’m turning 40 this year, and I think that sucks. Yeah, I know, you don’t have to say it. “Life begins at 40...blah, blah, blah.” I know that. Still sucks.
I’ve been married for nearly 14 years to my husband whom I love and adore (most of the time). And the rest of the time? I’m plotting his death in a manner that will surely get me my own episode of Dateline NBC one day. You know, just your typical, run-of-the-mill American marriage. I have no doubt he feels the same way.
I have a beautiful six-year-old daughter who delights my heart in a million ways, which isn’t to say that she doesn’t also push every single button I have and drive me up the wall on a consistent basis. It’s like living with a tiny little midget ninja lawyer who likes pink.
I am lucky and blessed to say that I have a lot of great friends and family members who you will undoubtedly meet as this blog goes on. If they’re willing and I can talk them into it, I’ll be inviting them to join me in some of our challenges. They make up a motley crew of nutty, loveable, flawed and uniquely individual individuals and I love them all.
I am not a psychologist, a doctor nor a financial expert. I’m just a regular person, like you, who is trying to figure it all out, make the best decisions I can, be as happy as I can and have as much fun as I can…all while trying to make it to bed every night by ten o’clock.
And finally, I solemnly promise to undertake each challenge and HONESTLY report on my progress. If I screw up and fall off the wagon, I will report it. It won’t do any of us any good if we’re not honest…with each other and with ourselves.
